Analyst Firm Stresses Importance of Complete and Accurate Data on Channel Partner Sales Activity

The report, “Latest InfoNow Offering Aims to Better Channel Oversight for Manufacturers,” was published on September 13, 2005, by Michael Haines and Dale Hagemeyer of Gartner Inc. Channel Insight DQS, launched in August 2005, is designed to help clients create and maintain a consistent, accurate, and complete view of customers and channel partners across an enterprise. DQS requires no software installation, customization, or ongoing client support. It processes customer and channel partner data from multiple operational systems, uses unique Channel Insight technology to identify the businesses in the data, and enhances this information with market data (such as company size, vertical market, contact names, and standardized address information) from business reference databases. DQS then links individual data records together according to client-specific business rules and assigns unique identifiers to individual entities, thereby eliminating duplicate records and facilitating ongoing data management. The resulting data can be used to populate a centralized data warehouse or be delivered to other enterprise systems.
